EURO ID 2009 EURO ID is the only European cross-sector Auto-ID trade fair. It has grown successfully into a key communication platform of the Auto-ID market. In 2009 focus will be on developing this foundation further. Auto-ID covers identification technologies like barcode, 2D code, 3D code and RFID as well as sensor technologies, software systems and services. Cross-sector and cross-company approach Auto ID technologies continue to play a leading role on the way to the Internet of the future and the Internet of things in particular. Data should be available to authorised users in real-time and should be made accessible everywhere, at any time of the day and irrespective of the existing IT infrastructure. It must be possible to process these data when and where they are required by the business operation. Such a capability forms the bedrock of industry solutions and cross-sector and cross-company systems. Innovative Auto-ID products provided by specialised SME contribute essentially to the global deployment of IT systems for internationally operating users like logistics services providers and companies e.g. in the automotive, consumer goods and pharmaceutical sectors. Focus on solutions and applications Auto-ID elements play a major role in modern production control (e.g. Just in Sequence (JIS)), in Product Life Cycle Management (PLM) in intra- and extra-logistics and in the trading business. Methods like pick-by-voice systems in stock and order control are now being completed by automated validation of the production order by means of RFID tags. Especially for the management of products, containers, pallets and racks RFID provides a huge potential for the cost-effective use of circulating receptacles, reduces capital tie-up and enhances transparency in corporate financial reporting. GC – Games Convention 2009 The eight GC – Games Convention will take place at the Leipzig Exhibition Centre GC was first held at Leipzig in August 2002 and since then, has become Europe’s leading fair for interactive entertainment, infotainment, edutainment and hardware.
With 503 exhibitors from 46 countries (2006: 374 exhibitors from 24 countries) and 185,000 visitors (2006: 183,000), the fair achieved a record result in 2007 & 2008.
For the first time, the GC Business Centre will extend this year throughout the entire Congress Centre Leipzig (CCL), Hall 1 and part of Hall 2.

DMS EXPO 2007
The eleventh DMS EXPO, in 2006 in Cologne for the first time, attracted around 19,450 visitors in total, making the debut a resounding success. See European Reseller on Stand I 043
The fair’s relocation to the new exhibition centre in Cologne paid off. Compared to 2005, 11% more visitors came to find out about how even a simple document management system harbours tremendous potential for boosting efficiency and streamlining processes.
In particular, the incorporation of the specialist conference into the trade fair halls proved to be valuable. Here, visitors who had registered on the Internet in advance or at the entrance were provided with compact background information free of charge. Not only the keynote speeches and panel discussions were well attended; throughout the entire fair, every space was filled at the VOI Forum, which focused on incoming mail processing, electronic signatures, tax/legal issues and the basics of DMS.
The visitors and the 345 exhibitors agreed unanimously that DMS offered a wealth of information and many opportunities to make new contacts.
