Internet of Things controls street lighting

An example of the Internet of Things (IoT) in action, is evident in the development of the latest wireless smart lighting control system, offering over  50% reduction in power consumption compared to existing smart lighting systems  along with enhanced reliability, improved radio range and class leading metering accuracy. The new MK3 design is now available and shipping in volume, with the Zigbee based solution already qualified for sale in North America.

This project was fulfilled by TTP and Mayflower.

Eaton awarded for FMX range

 

Eaton was also highly commended in the category of Innovative Power Product of the Year for its FMX range. The FMX range was developed specifically to address the need for safe, dependable and cost-effective medium-voltage switchgear that avoids the use of environmentally damaging SF6 gas.

Prysmian, € 730 M offshore wind farm grid connections in Germany

Prysmian Group, a world player in the energy and telecom cable systems industry, has been awarded a new contract worth approximately up to € 730 million (including options for grid connections in value of approximately € 250 M) to design, produce and install the power cable systems for the offshore wind park cluster West of Adlergrund in the German Baltic Sea. The contract awarded by 50Hertz Offshore GmbH a subsidiary of 50Hertz Transmission GmbH, an operator of transmission grids in Germany.
