New Datacentre in France

American CRM company Salesforce is setting up a new datacentre in France in a bid to bolster its presence in the EU, partnering with datacentre operator Interxion for the project. The French datacentre is one of three European facilities the company plans to open over the next two years.

Fabrice Coquio, managing director of Interxion France said the facility is powered by 100% renewable energy, although we do not have details how!

The move follows announcements made earlier this year to increase strategic investments in France, an important market for the company as it looks to shore up more users in the EU.

As part of the move the company also plans to open a French headquarters in Paris, the Digital Transformation Hub, which it said will be a dedicated space to fostering innovation and collaboration between salesforce‘s ecosystem of customers, partners, developers and employees.

The datacentre, one of three planned for Europe, will help support the company’s customers in the region. The first of the company’s European datacentres will open in the UK this autumn, with the recently announced datacentre in France and another in Germany to follow in 2015.
