Iskratel, a European innovator, will showcase its integrated InfoCommunication solutions for railways at InnoTrans 2014.

The solution, which provides business and operational communications on a single unified platform, brings numerous benefits to its customers, including reduced investment and maintenance costs by eliminating the requirement for several different solutions.

Iskratel is presently implementing the solution in Slovenia after winning the tender for the project ‘Introduction of digital radio system (GSM-R) on the Slovenian rail network’. Iskratel is managing the execution of the entire project.

  1. InfoCommunications solution for railways is already widely used and well-thought of by both existing partners and some of the largest railways in East and West Europe.

With over 65 years of experience and its own research and development and manufacturing teams, The company also has other solutions for operational and technological communications in many Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries, where traditional legacy systems have been bridged with next generation IP platforms.

“IP based InfoCommunications provide a future-proof backbone which can be modified and upgraded according to future needs, with the first step being integration of information and notification systems, video conferencing and surveillance with operational communications,” said Kristijan Melinc, Director of Business Communications at Iskratel.

The bridging of legacy and specialized communications to the IP platform delivers an overall improvement in network robustness and enables new applications with additional value. Meanwhile, Iskratel’s integration of video surveillance boosts security and its multipurpose dispatching system provides a single point of control.
