New Reseller for AMS-IX

AMS-IX expands business relationship with Quanza

Quanza Engineering is the latest partner to join the reselling program of AMS-IX (Amsterdam Internet Exchange). Quanza has extensive expertise in offering its customers the delivery, design, implementation and management of their IT infrastructure. Quanza will become a unique partner for AMS-IX, since the company will not only help connecting their clients to the exchange, but will also act as knowledge partner for AMS-IX.

Quanza Engineering creates, delivers, builds and manages IT infrastructures for Digital Enterprises: companies for which availability of the IT platform and connection to the Internet are business critical. Quanza takes care of the entire IT environment, so clients can focus on growing their business. Quanza has a motivated team of dedicated and experienced professionals who collectively have extensive and in-depth knowledge of the Internet, networks, systems, storage and virtualization.

Established in the early 1990s, AMS-IX (Amsterdam Internet Exchange) is a neutral and independent Internet Exchange based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. AMS-IX interconnects over 650 IP networks and its business traffic has a peak of close to 3 Terabit per second, making it the largest Internet Exchange in the world. The AMS-IX platform provides a professional, high quality, non-blocking peering service for all types of IP traffic, be it regular IP data such as email or web content, to also video/TV and voice.

AMS-IX’ broad partner network allows third parties to resell AMS-IX ports anywhere they have infrastructure connected to the AMS-IX colocations in Amsterdam. Under the program these parties and their services are certified to offer the AMS-IX service remotely. The program is aimed to provide easier access to AMS-IX for new (remote) customers through the partners and to consequently increase the value of the exchange through increased peering benefits.

“We are very pleased to have Quanza Engineering as our new partner,” says Job Witteman, CEO of AMS-IX. “The knowledge and services of Quanza are a very valuable addition to our partner ecosystem. Where most existing partners support AMS-IX with LAN extension or transport services, Quanza is a true knowledge partner for AMS-IX.”

“AMS-IX and Quanza already started working together more than 10 years ago. We support AMS-IX since 2001 with the setup of their infrastructure or with the connection of our clients to the exchange,” says Frans ter Borg, owner of Quanza. “A part of the arrangement took place between AMS-IX and the customer. However, various customers requested us to offer services as a ‘one stop shop’ for all their infrastructure related requests. In this request, we saw a great opportunity to become an official AMS-IX partner.”
