Soundbook - Open to play

The Soundbook from Bayan Audio is a small and powerful unit offering, a portable Bluetooth wireless speaker, usable in the office environment and in a social environment that's ready to play when you are. Simply open the cover and in seconds it fires in to life, either as a radio or as a Bluetooth speaker.

There are a plethora of Bluetooth speakers on the market, but few have a radio function. It is also a beautifully designed device. Honed from a solid block of aluminium this means the chassis gives fantastic tone.

Using the latest Smart Bluetooth 4.0 wireless technology, including advanced audio compression technology aptX, this delivers quality audio playback from many devices including Smartphones, Tablets and Notebook / PCs. The Smart Bluetooth 4.0 is also compatible with version v2.10 and above
Integrated NFC technology ensures a hassle-free, fast and easy way to pair with compatible source devices - requiring only a single touch to connect and get started with your playlists.

We found it very simple to connect and tested it as a radio, a blue tooth speaker and Conference speaker utilising the microphone.

Generally its small size 15W speaker delivered a powerful bass and an agreeable top note reproduction, a combination that provides the first class listening and speaking experience the you would expect. So whether you’re in your on a trip in a hotel room or relaxing in your office this unit is powerful enough to fill the space with your favourite music.

Whilst we had a very good conversation in conferencing calling mode, some recipients spoke of the conversation being broken on their end.

Prash vadgama the CEO of Bayan Audio is an energetic  and passionate individual, who has bought, built up  and sold a number of  companies. He was born on a Kenyan tea plantation in 1965. Due to political unrest he emigrated to the UK with his family in 1974 and was educated at the local Comprehensive in Crawley where he stayed until age 16.

Prash had a taste for consumer electronics in 1982 after starting his first job working for Dixons. In 1987, he began work as sales manager for a  small London-based digital media distributor. His passion for technology and dedication to business saw him climb quickly to Sales Director, boosting sales from £2.2mm to £10.0m GBP (1987 – 1992.)

In 1992 (age 25) Prash left to set up his own company distributing Logitech  and own brand Digital Edge input  control devices. Subsequently acquiring a share of portable in-car GPS manufacturing business Navman in 2001, Prash built the business from $500k USD s ales in Europe to $160m Global sales revenue (2001 - 2004). In 2004 Navman was sold to Brunswick whom he continued to work for and grew the business to £300m by 2006.
Prash was additionally appointed to Brunswick New Technology as the global president of Navman consumer  products and BNT Board member, covering sales, marketing and product development and responsible for teams in London, Chicago, Hong Kong and Auckland.

In 2007 after assisting the sale of Navman to Mitac Corp, Prash left Brunswick in order to develop his new ideas for electronic products, subsequently founding the brand and company Radiopaq and, in 2011, Bayan Audio. With an impressive CV and thirst for innovation, Prash Vadgama attributes parts of his success to his key life philosophies: work hard, put trust in people and share your knowledge with those around you.
Presently he sits on the boards of both Radiopaq and CrossKase Ltd, works with Outreach and supports Food for Life. Bayan isn't the biggest name in audio gear, but it has produced a whole range of iPod docks and speakers over the last 18 months. The Bayan Audio Soundbook is  now going to compete with the huge range available at the Airport.
