LG Electronics Business Solutions Showcases New LED Monitors for resellers

New LG Electronics LED monitors can help resellers and businesses significantly cut IT energy usage and meet new green targets

– For the First Time in the UK
Extensive new range help businesses cut energy consumption – and enjoy unprecedented picture quality too Slough, 29 September 2010 – A new range of computer monitors which could help businesses significantly reduce energy costs – and meet carbon reduction targets - were shown for the first time in the UK today by LG Electronics Business Solutions at the Future Gallery in London.

Among the products on show were the E50 series of LED monitors. These use up to 45% less power and have been awarded certification from the independent UL Environment, a first for the monitor industry.

“A large number of UK firms are still looking for ways to reduce running costs to help maintain their bottom line and recover from the economic downturn,” says Warren Lewis, sales director .

Also, with the deadline to register for the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme now upon us, many larger corporations will have to find ways to cut their energy usage to comply. The new LG LED monitors are an ideal way to do this – while at the same time enabling businesses to enjoy the other benefits such as superb picture quality too.

“In office-based environments there are limited opportunities to reduce carbon and in some cases, IT represents over half a company’s energy consumption. The IT sector is responsible for an estimated 2% of global CO2 emissions – the same amount as aviation. Investment in LG LED monitors that minimise energy usage can go some way to alleviate this situation – and ensure firms are ready for any further green legislation in the future.”

As these monitors don’t contain mercury or lead, they will also help businesses comply withWEEE standards when it’s eventually time for their disposal.

The E50 series was among LG extensive portfolio of LED monitors unveiled today. These all combine exceptional energy efficiency with new standards of picture quality, even in some models improving picture quality, sharpening blurry edges and dim colours, even when transforming standard level content into high definition.

Not only do these clear pictures reduce eye strain for business users, but they also provide any company in the creative and media sector with an ideal way to view Blu-ray films, HD web videos and full HD pictures and camcorder recordings.

Main highlights of the day included demonstrations of the:-

 LG M2280D – combines an HDTV with LED PC monitor and multimedia player. The combination of full HD and LED makes for stunning picture quality and the product’s hybrid nature helps save valuable office space.

 LG E2350VR – LED monitor with LG’s proprietary SUPER+ Resolution which positively improves picture quality and delivers rich HD pictures which compare with the best in LCD TVs.

 LG W2363D – 3D, LED HD monitor ideal for gaming.

LED stands for light emitting diodes. LEDs are used in these screens to backlight the display rather than the fluorescent lights used in traditional LCD screens. Consequently, monitors can be even slimmer than before and provide superb picture quality. They also use significantly less energy than LCD or plasma screens.
