Britain's Truphone wins backing from Roman Abramovich

The new Phablet from Apple.

On Tuesday this week Apple unveiled two new versions of the iPhone , the iPhone6 and the  iPhone 6  plus  boosting the screen size of the iconic smartphone to 6.22 inches (158.1 mm) by 3.06 inches (77.8 mm) and0.28 inch (7.1 mm) thick weighing 6.07 ounces (172 grams).

Asus launch Smart-phone to Indian Resellers

Taiwanese technology firm Asus, which has had a good presence in the Indian computer market for some years, is now poised to test the waters in the burgeoning Indian smart-phone market.

 Asus has introduced its ZenFone range of smart-phones - the ZenFone 4, ZenFone 5, and ZenFone 6 - in the Indian market carrying attractive price tags. The phones, which made their debut early this year at CES 2014, are priced at Rs 5,999 for the ZenFone 4.

 The ZenFone 6 is priced at Rs 16,999 while the ZenFone 5's prices start at Rs 9,999.

SMS not allowed in CAR

The Central African Republic is a landlocked country in Central Africa. It is bordered by Sudan in the northeast ,South Sudan in the east, Chad in the north and the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Republic of the Congo in the south and Cameroon in the west.

Mobile phone users in the Central African Republic who try to send text messages are getting the response: "SMS not allowed". Text messages in the Central African Republic are now considered a security threat and their use has been suspended, the telecommunications ministry. "The use of any SMS by all mobile phone subscribers is suspended from Monday June 2, 2014, until further notice," the ministry said in a letter to mobile phone operators in the conflict-torn country. It said the decision was made by Prime Minister Andre Nzapayeke.
