CLX partners with major mobile operators in France

CLX Networks, a global enterprise messaging company has partnered with all the major mobile operators in France to strengthen its mobile messaging service in one of Europe’s key markets. Enabling its client base access to the whole of France, adding cross carrier short-codes to its existing service portfolio for both outbound and inbound messaging services in France.

France currently has 4 mobile networks, Orange, SFR, Bouygues Telecom and Free all of which are licensed for GSM and UMTS. Before the launch of Free Mobile in January 2012, the number of physical mobile phone operators was very limited.

The average number of received enterprise SMS per subscriber in France is around four text’s per month. The French enterprise text market has a double-digit growth so France is one of the biggest potentials in Europe in terms of market growth.

 

18-24 year olds Completely Lost with out Smartphones

A study of 2,000 smartphone users has revealed that the younger demographic struggle the most when without an internet connection, with 50 per cent of 18-24 year olds admitting that they would feel “completely lost” if they are out and about and could not get online.

According to a new survey conducted by Telenav GMBh, the German  developer of Scout - a free sat nav app which includes offline functionality, nearly a third of respondents in the 18-24 age bracket say that they would have little use for a smartphone that didn’t have an internet connection, which is not surprising considering that they were born in the digital age  and 37 per cent say they use an internet connection on their handheld more than any other feature, including making calls this however did not distinguish between 3G, 4G and WI-FI.

New Handset from Lenovo for India

Chinese company Lenovo has launched S850, a new dual-sim phone  Android smartphone in India. first  unveiled at the Mobile World Congress, the phone will be available July 30  starting at a price of Rs 15,499 ( £150).

The Lenovo S850 sports a 5-inch 720p display. It is powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6582 quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM, and comes with 16GB internal storage. It sports a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera, and is backed by a 2,000mAh battery. Weighing 140gram, the 8.2mm thick phone runs Android 4.4 KitKat. It will be available in pink, white, and dark blue colour variants.

Smart phones exceeded sales PCs for Q4 2011
